CoolSculpting in Rockville, MD
What is CoolSculpting?
Coolsculpting is a fat-freezing technology that is non-surgical and FDA approved. It is the only aesthetic procedure that achieves measurable results without discomfort. Most of us have stubborn fat in trouble spots such as the abdomen, flanks (muffin top or love handles), inner and outer thighs, underneath the buttocks, under the chin, upper arms, and fat below and above the bra that persist despite proper diet and exercise.
What are the Benefits of CoolSculpting?
Coolsculpting causes very little pain and has NO downtime. We have a luxurious, spa-like suite where you can watch Cable TV, read, go on your computer, or chat with friends as you are being treated. While some patients have seen results as early as 3 weeks, the average time is 2-3 months. Worldwide, seven million treatments have been performed to date with long-lasting results seen a year after treatment, even with fluctuations in body weight. Many patients have told us that they continue to see ongoing improvement for 6 months. Studies have shown a 20-25% reduction in fat after a single treatment. Please note that Coolsculpting is NOT a treatment for weight loss. It is a body contouring or sculpting procedure when performed correctly and customized for each individual patient.
Does CoolSculpting Tighten Skin?
Although there is no guarantee that you will experience tightening of the skin after Coolsculpting, many patients, according to Dr. Rox Andersen, experience tightening of the skin in the treated areas. In fact, Coolsculpting is FDA cleared to affect the appearance of lax tissue with submental (chin/neck) area treatments.
Alternatives to CoolSculpting
Being a physician with excellent knowledge of anatomy and physiology, Dr. Olsen and her partner, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Gregory Dick, may decide that you are a better candidate for a tummy tuck, especially if examination reveals that you might have a hernia.
It will reassure you to know that you are getting the procedure that is right for your troubled areas and that safety is our most important priority. For example, due to important vessels and nerves in the neck, the Coolsculpting company recommends that this area be treated by physicians only. Although we are serious and professional about what we do, we keep it fun.
What is the difference between CoolSculpting and Liposuction?
Liposuction is invasive surgery requiring anesthesia and several days of recovery. Unlike Coolsculpting, it does not tighten skin and it is therefore not recommended in patients over 50-55, as they may be left with saggy or empty bags of skin. On the other hand, we continue to see skin tightening in Coolsculpting patients in their mid-seventies!
So let’s help you to get back to the “skinny side of your closet” and for you to “get your pretty back”.
Why Choose Olsen Aesthetics for Your CoolSculpting Procedure?
Dr. Olsen met the Coolsculpting inventor, Rox Andersen, M.D., at his Harvard meeting 8 years ago, and became the first physician to perform this procedure in the Greater Washington area. Being one of only a few physicians who personally performs Coolsculpting, her practice has quickly grown to include “Dual Sculpting” (twice the procedure in half the time), and to offer the latest and updated handpieces and equipment to treat all the areas mentioned above, now requiring as little as 35 minutes per area! To date, she has personally performed over 2,000 procedures.
We are one of the most successful practices in the Greater Washington area, and we attribute this to the stellar reputation of Dr. Olsen and Dr. Dick’s practice (in its 28th year!) which has always prided itself on recommending and performing procedures only after there is proof that they work. The bottom line, we are results-oriented!
